Sam's Town is a Vegas landmark located on the corner of Boulder Highway and Flamingo, six miles east of the Strip. This value-oriented casino hotel features accommodations built around a unique, extravagant, nine- story indoor atrium, under a glass roof. The atrium is home to the Mystic Falls Indoor Park, with live plants and waterfalls, complete with footpaths. Guests say this give Sam's Town a distinct "resort" atmosphere. This is the location for a spectacular water and light show, which plays various times during the afternoon and evening. Like many casinos located off the Strip, Sam's Town was conceived as a place for the locals, as well as the tourists to gamble. But visitors will feel comfortable rubbing shoulders with the Las Vegans at this friendly casino hotel. The casino is among the largest in town, and offers a full range of table games, as well as abundant slots and a race and sports book. Live entertainment is offered on most nights at "Roxy's" lounge, or at the 1,100 seat venue, "Sam's Town Live". Sam's Town also has a 56-lane/24-hour bowling facility, and an 18-screen movie theatre. The staff is notoriously friendly and helpful, and Sam's Town enjoys a substantial return clientele.
Although the nightly rates are inexpensive, if not a bargain, Sam's Town has a reputation for clean and well maintained accommodations. The guest rooms are built around the spectacular indoor atrium, and the rooms will have a view of the exterior, or they will overlook the atrium itself. The unique Western décor that pervades this hotel continues into these rooms. Guests will find a nice variety of full service restaurants onsite, like the Zagat-award winning "Billy Bob's", as well as fast food options from a food court. The hotel also has a single, outdoor pool. Many guests prefer Sam's Town, because the pace is more relaxed than on the Strip. However, Sam's Town does offer a complimentary shuttle to Downtown/Fremont Street and the Strip.
